Henry Knox was a plump bookseller in Boston in
1775.
Boston needed cannons to scare away the
British. So Henry Knox went to Fort
Ticonderoga to retrieve the cannons that they had captured & bring them
back… 300 miles in the winter!
On the way back to Boston, a barge carrying
cannons started to sink, but they worked together to patch & bail &
saved the boats & the cannons. Then,
one of the carts carrying cannons broke through the ice. No one is sure how Henry Knox rescued the
cannons. I think he swam in the water.
After a long, hard 50 days, Henry Knox finally got
all the cannons to Boston. Not a single cannon
was lost, & no one quit.
GO HENRY KNOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
